Vinessa Maxwell is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed to practice in the state of New York. Ms. Maxwell has experience working with the pediatric and adult populations in the private setting and Article 31 clinics. She provides therapeutic care and treatment for a wide range of psychiatric illnesses. Her scope of practice includes psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and treatment, psychiatric medication management, and psychotherapy. Ms. Maxwell has over five years’ cumulative experience working in the mental health field as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the Herbert Lehman College and her Master of Science degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing at the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing. Ms. Maxwell graduated from both programs with honors. Ms. Maxwell is enthusiastic about mental health, values her patients, and provides quality and holistic care.

Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation

This is a comprehensive assessment exploring present problems, symptoms, and other essential patient information required to make an accurate diagnosis, recommendations, and a customized treatment plan.

Psychotherapy

As part of your evaluation, the provider may recommend psychotherapy. Our practice supports a combination approach that involves medication management and psychotherapy.

Follow up and Medication Management Services

Following the evaluation, medications may be recommended as part of the treatment plan. Our provider will address all your concerns regarding the use of medications ensuring medication suitability, efficacy, and safety.

Documentation Support

Patients actively involved in treatment can receive documentation support deemed appropriate by the provider. Documentation support includes emotional support animal (ESA) letters, work leave, and accommodation letters.
